At the beginning of this year, I made the decision to close my business. This decision was made after learning about the CPSIA law requiring all products marketed to children under 12 yrs. be tested to determine lead/phthalates content. The tests and requirements, while wonderful for the protection of all children, are costly and challenging for my small business. There is currently a stay on the law that was signed in August, 2008. It will go into effect next February, 2010. Despite the potential of beneficial changes in this law for small crafters/businesses, I am personally ready to move in a new direction.
I will be selling left over stock on my Etsy shop during the remainder of this year. Sometimes it might be empty, sometimes you might find a great deal! If you wish to contact me directly, feel free to email me.
Thank you for your support over the past years. I encourage you to seek out and support any and all small businesses, particularly those run by stay at home mamas!
